Whether it be for professional assignments or works done in his free time, Jim's fascination and delight with landscape is evident. Flora and fauna - the living world around us - are celebrated in small vignettes and large scale compositions with a joyful attention to detail and accuracy. Separate from his illustration work, Jim explored the watercolor medium in the 1940's thru 1960's completed a number of masterful works during this time, exhibiting with and becoming a member of esteemed American Watercolor Society. Jim illustrated parts of the World We Live In series for Life Magazine, appearing in book and magazine form.
