Lillian copied pictures of movies stars from magazines and sketched her sisters throughout her teen years. Growing up in Brooklyn, New York it was suggested by a family friend that she appy to the art school nearby - Pratt Institute. There Lillian excelled at portrait painting and figure drawing, and stayed on after graduation an additional semester for advance studies. Many of her early works have been safely stored away in portfolios since this time. With her powerful command of the page and organiic style, she created beautiful works. Once married, she and Jim worked side by side on many assignments - she was studio manager, typist, paint mixer, draftsperson and researcher. Her contribution was invaluable. Jim always encouraged her to keep up with her own art work, and she continued to paint portraits throughout her lifetime.
